What is Pascal?
Pascal is a third generation programming language designed for instructional purposes in 1968 by Nicholas Wirth. Pascal requires the programmer to define all the routines and variables fully, including the nature of their use, before using them. Pascal is an excellent language to learn to write structured programs, however many programmers feel that it is too restrictive in it's rules and while still used an an instructional language, today many serious programmers use C, C++ or Java instead.
